Tour + Tasting

Rijkszaadeest Tour followed by a Kegel tasting

  • Tour + Tasting (1 hour)
  • €12.50 per person incl. VAT.
  • 1-16 people
  • Incl. Kegel Dry Gin, Kegel Pinecone.

Time has stood still for years in the Rijkszaadeest, and it shows! Let one of our enthusiastic volunteers take you back in time. They will tell you everything and show you how the Veluwe forests originated. Afterwards, you will get to taste our unique distillates.

Tip: Combine your visit with a walk on the Veluwe.

Discover the Rijkszaadeest

  • 30–45 minutes
  • €5 per person incl. VAT.
  • Up to 15 people per volunteer

Time has stood still for years in the Rijkszaadeest, and it shows! Let one of our enthusiastic volunteers take you back in time. They will tell you everything and show you how the Veluwe forests originated

Afterwards, a glass of Kegel or perhaps a cup of coffee, available at our catering facility at the Rijkszaadeest.

Please note: unfortunately, we are not yet wheelchair accessible.

Distiller for a day. Tour and distilling workshop

  • Tour + workshop 3–4 hours
  • €150 per person incl. VAT
  • Minimum of 4 and maximum of 16 people
  • Incl. snacks and drinks + your own distilled bottle

Join other gin enthusiasts for a tour of the Rijkszaadeest, followed by a distilling workshop with our distiller Jack.

During this lively afternoon or evening, we’ll dive into the interesting world of gin, and you’ll distill your own unique flavor. You’ll go home with a lot of knowledge and your own distilled bottle of gin.

  • €125 per person incl. VAT.
  • Up to 16 people
  • Incl. snacks and drinks + your own distilled bottle

Join other whisky enthusiasts for a tour of the Rijkszaadeest, followed by a distilling workshop with our distiller Jack.

During this lively afternoon or evening, we’ll dive into the interesting world of whisky, and you and Jack will distill your own malt wine. You’ll go home with a lot of knowledge and your own distilled bottle of ‘new make’.

Frequently asked questions

Where Do the Ingredients Come from?Toggle

All herbs for the recipe come from the forest; we have an organic certification for our own forests on the Veluwe, where we carefully hand-pick them. The main ingredient is the ’empty’ pine cone, after the seeds have been extracted.

What Does your Gin Taste like?Toggle

All herbs come from the forest – and you can taste it! Imagine yourself in a pine forest for a moment. Kegel Zonder is characteristically positioned between jenever and gin. Kegel Met offers an even more intense forest experience.
