How We Make it Happen
Forests and Trees
For every bottle sold, we provide 1 m² of forest, for real! We plant the seeds extracted from the pine cones, just like in the old days. Each bottle indicates which square meter.
We pick the pine cones, and as soon as the seeds are extracted from the cones, we use the empty pine cones as the base for the Kegel Gin recipe. We replant the seeds so that we can harvest again in the future.
Reuse
The bottle is specially made for us from recycled glass in the Czech Republic and has a large opening, so the Kegel fits inside (unique in the world). The opening is also handy if you want to use the bottle as a storage jar.
Organic
All herbs are wild-picked and are of organic origin.
100% Natural
Our corks are handcrafted in Italy. 100% natural cork, which also serves as the label, 100% plastic-free.
Energy Neutral
With the residual heat from the distillery still, we heat the oven of the Rijkszaadeest to dry the pine cones and extract the seeds.
